Default TD05 and STI TMIC fitment on a bug

Looking into the options for a bit more power out of my Bug WRX, running at the 280 mark at the minute on a TD04. Looking into a TD05, does it need to be from a newage or can one be fitted that came from a classic, and will a TD05 be a straight fit.

In regards to STI TMIC's, do they need to be from a newage or will they fit from a classic.

From classic you can fit,but i think you will need convert to front entry, but i think good turbo for you will be VF35 which is for around £250 or VF34 for £300-£450.
Possibly get from Newage TMIC is better for you or just FMIC,because for full potential of STi TMIC you will need IC splitter and STi scoop.

The sti tmic will need to be from a newage sti as that is the one that will cope with 340 bhp from the td05 as the classic sti intercooler is not as good/efficient.

The td05 only came on a classics from from 93-96, so will therefore have a 90 degree inlet as the intake on the early classic was different. for a td05 to fit a newage, you will need a front entry compressor cover to convert it to front entry which is what the newage car is. you can get a convertor from andy forrest at around £80. once the td05 is converted to front entry it is then straight fit onto a newage car.

also make sure you get andy to grind down the compressor cover he sends you as it will foul on the tgv valves on the inlet manifold, this is only the case on a newage wrx, with other cars its fine.

I would recommend VF30,VF34 or VF35,TD05-16G(front entry) are quite good turbo with these turbos you will make 330-350BHP
