Default Big thanks to Duncan (racedynamix)

Well Duncan has done it again with my car.

The drive from Edinburgh was rather fun.

The car has totally been transformed and only let down by a slipping clutch so I'm on the look out for a new one. Any one have any suggestions? Car is a 2006 wrx 2.5 5 speed box!

Once again thanks for a fantastic job Duncan.

Hi Doug - yeah shame about the clutch not quite being up to the job on holding the torque but should be awesome with something a little better in there. Have a word with Alyn at ASP and he should be able to sort one out for you

Cheers Duncan will do.

Thanks again the car feels great and the clutch doesn't feel like it does it all the time!

Cheers

Still on a standard clutch with mine. Has never shown signs of slipping with the standard turbo and 253bhp, but may need to consider upgrading at some point if i'm looking at potentially up to 100bhp more!!!! oops.

You'll have to let me know what you decide for clutch. I was looking at an Exeddy eventually.

Duncan do you think I need just a friction plate or a whole new clutch?

Cheers

As Duncan says above, or try these guys: Nationwide Clutch Distributors UK LTD however they dont have there own website, but go by techniclutch on eBay http://shop.ebay.co.uk/techniclutch/....c0.m270.l1313... Stay away from unbranded clutches imho though, and I havent trawled through what they have listed, but sometime have some really good deals.

I got an Exedy Organic from them last year for £140 delivered which handled over 300bhp fine.... but I would recommened the Pink box as Duncan said, and I have to say looks a decent price too

Hi thanks for the info. I have contacted both companies so will keep updated with results.

Duncan do the think the turbo is capable of more? What sort of figures do you think it's running. As sone clutches I've seen say 350 bhp and stuff like that.

Hi Duncan, I have tried a few clutch companies and they all say that no manufacturer (exedy etc etc) makes uprated clutches for my car and they need to make them?? But you sent me a link for the clutch above?? I'm confused. Haha

Hi bob,

Just got your message, do you do discount for scoobynet or Sidc members. Seen the same clutch for £270 with free p&p?

Give me a bell and I will do the correct one for your model at the same price also

Haha. I just read this. Yep, keeping a keen eye mate. Your problems will undoubtedly be my problems too. Your like my trial run. Sorted.

The exedy pink clutch kit for £270 gets my vote. Think ill do everything else first and see what happens on the remap like you.

Yeah probably a good idea Andy, your clutch might take it. My clutch has done 47k so new one should be good!

Andy, forgot to ask did you manage to get the pipes for your turbo? Where did you get them from in the end?

Hi Doug. Nope, not got the pipes yet. Waiting till April when I'll have enough money to get exhaust bits, spark plugs, turbo fitting bits and Duncans special magic.

The kit I found on fleebay was a complete turbo fitting kit for vf 35, 42 or 48 single scroll turbo like ours. Was £50 delivered. Contains all pipes, gaskets etc I require to fit. Should do the job.

How you finding the car now? Good fun I bet. Is there any noticeable difference in turbo lag?

Yeah car is running good apart from the clutch slipping when I floor it from 60 in 5th. But it doesn't slip that bad and it soon sorts out just the initial boost.

Got a new one ordered should be here tomorrow I think. But not got the cash to fit it yet. Local specialist quoted me £230 for fitting it so might be a job for next month as the mrs wants us to drive down to Bristol in April so that will be fun motorway driving.

Are you just going to do the turbo yourself? I was going to sell my td04 and intercooler but can't sell things on here as I'm not a paid member. eBay it will be I suppose.
