replacing WRX TMIC with an STI and remapping.
In the process of sourcing parts to up the power on my Bug WRX, currently has the WRX TMIC fitted and i have purchased an STI TMIC.
When removing forge dump valve and replacing with a recirc valve i noticed that the thread in the WRX TMIC had been previously damaged, on one side you can get the bolt in lightly but then it loosens itself, the recirc valve feels fairly secure on there but not as much as it should be.
Car is currently without MOT and i will need to sort this before getting remaped, is it ok to replace it with the STI unit without having it remaped?
I start the car up once a week and run it for about 20 mins, and will only need to travel a mile to get to the MOT station.
After that i will be getting the rest of the parts fitted and then remaped.

will be fine with the sti topmount as long as you dont drive it to hard. Ive had a similar problem with an sti top mount. Very easy to run a tap down it of a different size. Im now using a 10mm thread rather than 8 Just means drilling the dump valve holes out a little too
