Default 1st time subaru owner

Hi everyone.
As you can see, I'm new to Scooby net.
I've got myself a V reg (12/99) Legacy GL classic AWD estate. My first Subaru
Can't imagine driving anything else now, absolute godsend in the bad weather. While other cars sat stationary on their drives, mine started first time and got me safely around these well kept English roads.
Anyway, apologies if I'm repeating things but I'm only just finding my way around this site and my car !
Could you please help me with a couple of questions -
1) How do I know if my car is an import ?
2) Secondly, how do I find out if it's a mark 1, 2 or 3 ? (this seems to be important when getting used parts. I think I remember reading somewhere that it's to do with the front lights but can't be sure of this).

Many thanks for taking the time to read this,
Scoobycountrygirl.

Many thanks. I'll do that.
Also, if I can ask just one more question - there seem to be a lot of breakers yards about. Does anybody have a recommendation for one where I can get Subaru parts for my old warhorse ?

As Scoobyols said, a piccie will help with which generation it is, if its got long thin front lights, its a gen2, if its got quite square front lights, it will be a gen3.

Also, as for the Breakers year, where abouts in the world are you?
What parts do you need i have a few bits knocking about off my old Legacy GT-B.

Also, get yourself over to 'www.UKLegacy.com' they're a good bunch, and might be able to help with the more specific questions.

Once again, I thank you very much.
I live in deepest, darkest Norfolk, you know the county, you don't pass through it, you have to make a definate attempt to get to it !
Quite nice really, used to live down south but much more of a gentler pace of life here !
Not too far to Snetterton Race Track so it does have some advantages and I believe the football team's not doing too bad (although I'm more of a cricket gal really. Quite like rugby as well and a bit of snooker or Tour de France - sorry, I'm rambling, I'll shut up now !)
