Default Another oil question

Alright guys I know this has been asked a million times I've looked through a few threads and in still confused lol basically my car has a oil leak it's being sorted on Thursday but I've checked the dip stick and it's quite low so I need to top it up what oil do I need the recommended stuff is 5w 30 but after reading a few threads on here I'm a little unsure now it's a 2005 blob eye wrx any advice would be great as I don't wanna spend loads cuz it's leaking from the sump gasket so the oil will have to be dropped on Thursday anyway cheers guys

If you need to top up asap it is always better to top up with something rather then nothing. All oils mix so you can top up with 5w-30, 10w-40 and 5w-40 all fine.

Fully synthetic is the best option, a semi-synthetic is a cheap alternative. Magnatec is okay, nothing special for the money though.

Cheers mate just didn't wanna put the wrong stuff In and kill the engine etc it's only gotta last me for 30 miles which is how far away the garage is it's typical aswell I've got 3 litres of 5W 30 synthetic blend in the garage just my luck that is lol

If you have some 5w-30 on the shelf, just use some of that to get you through till next service.

Would that be ok even though it's synthetic blend not fully synth like i said I've only gotta go 30 miles as I'm not using the car due to the leak just don't wanna be half way there and get the dreaded bottom end knock lol from what I've read these engines are very sensitive to oil types

Yes mate, it will be fine and will mix just fine with what is in there already.
