hi all,
i have a 2003 wrx sti uk spec

problem: clicking popping sound coming from the front at very low speeds 1st initial thought was c.v joints which i got checked and are fine

his suggestion: strut mounts they have a bearing in the top of them and this is whats giving my clicking sound at low speeds etc
anyone else have this problem replaced the strut mounts and fixed???

Also rear strut mount knocking seems to be a common problem so thinking of repacking the struts...

cv or wheel bearing there does not have to be play for them to click ,just pitted or chrome coming away if enough.

check bottom ball joint but more than likely 1 of the above

Is this happening when coming on and off light acceleration at low speed if so check your driveshaft nuts. Just pop off the centre cap and see if the staking on the 32mm nut is in the groove on the shaft, if it isn't then it needs tightening. I had this on my (now sold) 03STi, drove me mad for nearly a year before I found it.
