im fitting a cold air filter kit to my mates 52 plate wrx at the weekend,car is bog standard uk one,will it accept the modification ok?

im presuming ecu will adjust to it?

 

Not a good idea! Will run badly at the least without a remap, panel filters are good for up to 400BHP

 

needs to be fitted and mapped at the same time, mine was dreadfull, lumpy idle and cutting out.

Definately needs a remap with this mod.

 

im unfamiliar with playing with these turbos,mines an early one so its very easy to drop a new chip into it as ive fitted a socket in it.

i have chipped VAG cars for years+they are very tolerant of filter kits,the ecu adjusts its self fully within 3 cycles after it analyses the data from several major sensors and alters the MAF to match,im surprised the subarus dont do the same?

i can put VAGs into "learn"mode though
