Default oil pressure location

hi people just a quick question im fitting a oil pressure gauge to my 95 wrx jdm turbo,now i know that normal there is a oil pressure adapture fitted just under the alternator but i have noticed on my car i have a sandwich plate fitted were the oil filter goes like the 1 in the picture or does it need to go under the alternator any help would be much appriciated kind regards ben

That looks like a sandwich plate adaptor that would go under the oil filter.
There is already a plate there for the in built water / oil cooler, called a modine.
Fitting this there would provide a feed to sensors and / or oil coolers, but it may be quite low down risking hitting road items?

Another option is to use a T adaptor on the one already in the block under the alternator to feed 2 gauges / warning lights, readily available and not dear.

BEST place is where Subaru put theirs: under the alternator.

If your new sender will fit, put it there and put the switch on the shelf in your garage
