ecu assistance required
i post before you all to ask for a bit of assistance in a task i am trying to fullfill.
i am trying to find out what ecus are fitted to each variant of the good old scooby and to date i have managed to find out approximately 100 model car/ecu combinations and most of which with year and variations but am now at a dead end
so what i am asking is this , if you happen to have a ecu and you know what car it came out of (oem only) including , model ie impreza , year , variation ie wrx , sti , type r , rb5 , sport etc and you have al the numbers off the ecu with information on how many plugs it has and the colour of them , would you be able to send me this information.
the reason i am doing this is so i can get a little bit of information on my own car and see if we can get a bit of reference data for others , so if like me they thought it was the incorrect one they could check or find the numbers of a more powerfull one they can choose their own without relying on unscrupulous sellers listing a wrx one as an sti just because it is in the title and getting more money for it.
i dont want any more detail on your car than this , i am not trying to copy anything its mainly for curiosity and keeps me busy on the rig at night
thanks

As far as I know the later ones can all be re-mapped which is why people don't bother trying to swap ecu's, It's only really the early classics that you could achieve gains with by doing this, I might be wrong though?

From what I have read the only option you would have for that is to find an ecu off a car of the same year/model, An my97/98 which had a prodrive performance pack fitted for an extra 25 - 35 bhp but this would need coding to your car due to the immobiliser or get an aftermarket ecu That's probably why you couldn't find any or much info listed, Before 97/98 they could be chipped or have esl liveboards fitted or aftermarket ecu's fitted and after 97/98 they could be re-mapped

my ecu
i have since pulled the carpet up on my car which is a gc8d model to find the ecu is a 6s , am i correct in assuming that this is indeed one of the models which cannot be remapped or an esl fitted

http://www.type-ra.co.uk/vB/showthread.php?t=8063 Heres some info on it.Im not sure but i think the 6s and the 75 ecu are more or less the same but one is set up for the vf23 on a v3 and one for the vf24 on the v4.
