Bespoke Intercooler/Bonnet seal

Bespoke Intercooler/Bonnet seal
I bought a WRX off ebay last year to take to the Ring as my 306 was taking so long to rebuild I was missing having a fast car. The plan was to sell the Scoob when i came back from the Ring but I like it that much I cant bring myself to do it.
The car was pretty well sorted when I bought it but I was abit worried how well the aftermarket top mounted interccoler was working so I fitted a gauge and found to my horror on a cold day in Jan I was seeing over 60c round Donington. I was going to fit a front mount but it would have involved moving my oil cooler which I didnt fancy so I opted on sealing the intercooler to the bonnet for starters.
First I cut a plate out of 2mm aluminium and fitted it directly over the intercooler, then I welded some 25mm angle onto the inetcooler to sit about 10mm away from the plate.
All I had to do them was stick some universal door seal I bought from a kit car place to the bonnet that creates the seal.
Early signs are good but I wont be albe to tell how much it realy helps until I get to Cadwell later this month, I report back then.
Cheers Martin

Nice work, but the main problem is that over about 80mph the airstream goes straight over the top of the scoop so whatever you've done under the scoop isn't going to help hugely. Also heat soak after a run to the TMIC above the turbo isn't helpful.

Ta for advice.I had heard that over a certain speed the air goes over the scoop although it has got a bigger scoop but I'll just have to see what happens
Will this scoop help ?
