Default RUNNING PROBLEMS

I have a my99 impreza turbo
it idles fine but when I pull away there’s no power and it judders and coughs until it comes on to boost and goes as normal, don’t get me wrong I love driving it in the boost but need to sort it.

I think it is my MAF censer and not happy about it because it’s only just over a year old but want a second opinion on what it could be.
The only reason I think it is the MAF is last year it done the opposite it would judder and cough when boosting but fine off boost.

I have tried reading the fault codes but it won’t save the fault, so I put it in dynamic mode and still nothing. I also reset the ecu and nothing.

Thanks for looking Alan

Get yourself a cable and load EcuExplorer on a laptop. You need to do a high boost/high speed run and download the log to the laptop via the SSM-protocol OBD port on the lower dash cowling. You need to look out for any unexpected erroneous readings e.g. low MAF voltage when at WOT, etc, that sort of thing. It's a good place to start, as it only costs you the price of a cheap cable - I bought this one:-

ISO9141 409.1 KKL DIAGNOSTIC CABLE
