Default oil leak which gasket is it please?

hi was replacing the brake pads on my s reg turbo 2000, i had the nearside wheel off and looked through to the block i could see oil leaking from a gasket on the side!! can anyone tell me what gasket this is please hope its not head gasket!!

Not going to be able to put one up till tonight mate, im afraid im working today **** i know!
I will go and have a look and see if i can take one outside work now cheers.

id guess at rocker gasket, quite common.

Seems to be under where the spark plugs are!! So hard is it to change the rocker gasket mate?

it's a bit tricky to get some of the bolts out due to space restriction but other than that it's pretty simple. Remove air box/filter on one side and washer bottle/battery on the other. Remove oil filler neck as well makes it easier to remove the rocker cover.

You'll need a 10mm socket, also a 10mm ring spanner is handy for the tight ones possibly extended with a 11mm for better reach.

Use some gasket sealant on the new gasket and some recommend an extra washer on the bolts to apply a bit more force.

Don't tighten them up too much when they go back in they break easily

Thanx for the helpfull replys guys, might tackle the gaskets myself when i have a day off hopfully its just the one on the passanger side(the tricky one). Ill check tonight and check its not on both sides if it is might pay someone to do the job!!
