Wagon on track
I have just bought a classic facelift wagon wrx which i am thinking of using for a few trackdays. I have tracked the saloon version several times and just wondered how the wagon compares, any pros and cons? Thanks

Without driving one, I'd say there'll be bugger all difference, for like for like power.
Okay it could have a slightly higher CoG point, and therefore higher roll centre too, but I doubt it won't be significant enough to really notice the difference... ???
The only real difference would be the extra weight compared to its saloon counterpart, for like for like MY variants.

Yes that's correct re the WRX, in that the wagon has less power than its saloon counterpart.
And - aside from a few anomolies - correct that the STi saloon and wagons have the same power, for the same MY.

The wagon is a bit heavier than the saloon , so depending on the state of your suspension as it will be 10+ years old now you may find it not as quick as your saloon as it is also down on power(30 -40 bhp). The weight difference at the front will be the same as your saloon, but at the back it will have an extra 65 - 71 kgs to contend with going round a corner/bend.
Best thing imho is see how you get on and if you find it a bit wallowy or tail happy change to some sti suspension or prodrive shocks to give you more grip than your std units.
