Default IMPREZA WRX IDLE CONTROL VALVE

Hi all. Thanks for taking the time to read my post. Sorry to the admins if i have posted in the wrong area of the forum - please feel free to tell me off lol - and move the post!

I have a classic shape Impreza WRX - year is a 1999/2000 on an X plate. I have a faulty Idle control valve, and i have found a 1997 model on a R plate in a breakers yard, which according to the yard still has the valve connected to the throttle body. The yard is some way from where i live, so before i go trecking off, i just wondered if anybody could shed any light as to if this valve would be the same as mine or if the engine changed in any way in the years between 1997 to 1999/2000?

I have asked the yard, but they do not know the answer to my question.

Any help would be much app.

Thanks in advance.

Snowmantbr.

Have you tried cleaning your old one? Usually a clean with carb cleaner will sort these out
