Default Sainsburys super unleaded??? Thoughts please???

Hello.

Sainsburys by me has just started selling super unleaded, wondering what people's experiences are, running a my 99 with a magnex back box & bailey dump valve.

Cheers.

Do you know what alleged RON it is? 97, 98, 99.............?

I expect it'll be 97, like all the rest (exc. V-P and Tesco)

97 ron is ok for a std or ppp car though, only cars that really need 99 ron is unmapped jdm cars or cars specifically mapped on 99 ron fuel, I had my jdm mapped on total 97 ron although as an added safety I use tesco 99 mainly because it is the nearest garage to where I live. In fact a std uk newage car wont self destruct on 95 ron, as the Subaru dealer I bought mine from pointed this out when I bought my wrx from them, but I never tried it. Sainsburys super unleaded at 97 ron shouldn't really be a problem.

I use sainsburys super all the time. Its 97 RON. Will be fine for any car unless its been mapped for a different fuel

Ok sounds good for me as long as it isn't mapped, is there any way of telling if my car is mapped, a mechanic said it thought it might be as it was a bit quicker than a normal classic, I have no paperwork suggesting this, I suppose the only way is a rolling road session?
