Default Oil advice for new member.

Just bought a 1998 classic turbo wagon 2 weeks ago.The previous owner had done an oil change the week before, but used 0w-30 fully synth ( left me the can in the car ).On reading through loads of threads, it appears the car should be using 10w-40?

My question is,should I drain this out now? and if so can I get away with just draining the oil without putting a new filter on as well?

Car has only done a hundred miles since I bought it.

Thanks,Kev.

Hi Kev

If the engine is in good condition and the car isn't getting hard use, the 0w-30 will be fine until the weather gets hotter. Then a 5w-40 or 10w-40 would be a better choice.

Cheers

Tim
