high pitch vibe on left handers?
hi all, just picked up my first sub, an 01 bugeye wrx. 88k miles and not too bad nick. i never expected the car to be perfect but im getting a few strange probs that i cant diagnose. firstly there is a high pitch vibration on left hand corners, very strange, seems like a dry joint on a drive shaft or similar, is this a common problem? also the brakes have a hard pedal all the time but dont seem to stop the car very well, im thinking siezed caliper somewhere. lasty there seems to be a lot of road noise but im assuming this is normal. ant ideas on the vibe and brakes? ta

At 10 years old and 88k you could well be looking at a wheel bearing(s)
The hard brakes could, as you say, be a siezed piston in a caliper, especially if the brake fluid has not been changed regularly (common!)
Road noise is quite common on these cars. It's a consequence of stiff suspension and bushes although in your case it could be added to by the possible wheel bearing problem. Think you may need to dip into your pocket, unfortunately!

My right rear wheel is rumbling all the time and worse on left handers. I hear that changing a rear wheel bearing is a bitch as the hub has to come off to press out the old bearing and press in the new.
Would a cheaper, quicker way be to get a hub from a specialist breaker?
