Need some advice...
Hi Guys, I have a baby boy on the way and have decided that I won't be able to afford to run my '94 WRX for much longer. The car's engine has also started to develop some engine problems. So rather than sell the car on for peanuts I decided to look out for an Impreza 1.6 GL in the same colour (406 silver) with plans to swap over the interior and bodywork etc. so then I could still drive my beloved scooby as a practical family saloon with out the steep running costs.
I finally found a '95 Impreza 1.6 GL on eBay and won the bid for £486... happy days! However the car was based in England and with me being in Northern Ireland I contracted a local transportation company to bring the car over. 10 days on and the deal has fallen through due to the transportation company mucking about. I was gutted at first, but my girlfriend assured me that "it wasn't meant to be"
Anyway, now I am back to square one, and with few decent examples of the GL about (especially in the right colour) I am wondering about the possibility of dropping an EJ16 engine into the WRX. I guess that this most undesirable of engine swaps hasn't been carried out before lol. So basically I am wondering if anyone out there has any advice or sees any potential problems with the conversion?

Yea it was driveable, thanks mate but unfortunately it is now sold!
If I had have known it was going to take so long I would have flown over myself and brought it back. But the transportation company were offering me a price that was almost cheaper than me collecting it.
