evap canister removal

ok guys wondered if you can help me is it posible to remove the evap canister and what procedure is involved it is a 96 model engine the reason is need the room in the engine bay

you do need to be a bit careful as (if it's the same as on my 96 legacy) if you just unplug it there is a risk of the fumes venting to somewhere very hot and igniting. Also the other side goes to the inlet manifold so potential vac leak there.
Mine has a feed from the petrol tank which goes into the canister, and then two other pipes that go to the manifold via a solenoid or something. If you trace the hoses you should be able to figure it out. I made a loop for those second two with a one way valve on and put the one way pressure valvue on the end of the hose from the tank and put it low down so it won't vent near exhaust, sparks etc.
I hope that makes sense, was done a while ago so going from memory.
