Angry please help

hi i have a w reg classic was running fine till last Sunday when it cut out wile at high rpm it did this once before then carried on as normal but this time no luck there was no engine management light on to start with but after a reset i got code 23 maf i believe.
so changed maff with an original subaru part still no go so striped wiring loom checked and fine. but i still wont rev above about 3-4000 rpm.
things i know it isn't
fuel pump is good
new maf fitted and wiring checked also tried an old maf that i had in shed all do the same thing
coil pack changed
new spark plugs
fuel filter changed + in tank filter checked
don't think its hitting boost cut as its barely at 4-5 psi when it cuts out.
if driven below 3500 rpm fine no problem cruse at 70 fine but press the gas and it starts to miss and wont go.
really don't know what to do next its the only car i have and the 40 miles to work is a real pain with no car

things you may need to know it a w reg uk car was decatted and remapped in 2007 and has not missed a beat since till now please help
is there anything else that can put code 23 up apart from maf ?????????

Try a 2nd hand sensor from the trade section here, or a scrappy yard.
