Hi

I have a 2006 (hawkeye) STI Type UK and was wondering which body panels are made of aluminium? I can tell the bonnet definitely is as it weighs next to nothing, and as such never "drop it shut" like a normal one, instead just push it shut with my hand. But wondered which other parts were also aluminium to keep the weight down. Also are the number of aluminium panels and body as a whole the same as in the JDM STI (excluding the spec c and type RA)?

i could be wrong here but think the bonnet is the only part, i have a hawk so if am wrong iam learning 2 !

just try sticking a magnet to the panels and you will soon see which is aluminium.

 

Or body filler

 

Aluminium panels are a myth, its just the bonnet, even the JDM's just have the alloy bonnet, that includes the Spec C etc.

Thought spec c boot was alloy and the roof just thinner gauge steel. Sure I have seen alloy spec c bootlids for sale on litchfield site.
