Got one in mine. The reason I got one is it's a dry filter and does not coat my MAF with oil.

So far it seems good

That's the reason I asked, the non oiled seems to be the better option. Did you see any improvement in running?

I've got one in my Fozzy 2.5 PPP and it definitely feels a bit more responsive in the mid-range now, seemed like a good buy at £30. Also put one in the Wife's B4 RSK and she's happy with it, it was done at the same time a full service (inc. new plugs) so I can't tell how much difference the panel alone made.

What about the DO-LUCK Panel Filter?

I believe it won the Scooby Clinic Panel Filter Test for most bhp gains over K&N and others and sell for less than £40?

Im tempted by the Cosworth panel filter but they're pricey at ~£45-50 (more than most other brands), and I assume you need to clean them every now and then.

Isd the panel filter in 2006/2007 hawkeye the same size exactly as the bug and blob?

Thanks guys. I'm only after a new panel filter but thanks for the offer. Alan, that's a very good price. How often do they need cleaning? And is there a particular way of cleaning them, to make sure they stay effective? Thanks again guys

If im not mistaken the Cosworth panel filter is a service item therefore needs replaced at relevant intervals.

The likes of K&N Green are reuseable.

If its the case the cosworth is a service item then its not cost effective in the long run.

It may have got the most bhp gains, but the most important job the filter does is 'filter'! Now i can't see any tests/results for filtration!

I could stretch a fishy gusset over my intake and gain 1 or 2 bhp over a KnN but...

KnN all day long.

You'd be better off price wise sticking to the stock one. The Cosworth one is a performance solution. I'd say 10,000 miles in normal use isn't an issue.

£23 for the dealer part from http://www.subarupartsstore.co.uk/pr...ter_16546AA070

As I said earlier, I bought 2 of them a few weeks back and they were the same for both cars. The hawkeye wrx uses the same engine as my fozzy which uses the same filter as the classic, bug and blob.

£36 for the Cosworth filter from Alan

£23 for the OE filter

For the extra £13, I know what i'd choose...

Thanks guys. Yes I am thinking the Cosworth from Alan is very good value, even if you have to throw it away and replace it every 10k miles, ie with each service. One question, I assume I need to tell my insurance co that I have a modified air filter, even though it is identical in shape to the stock one?

Hi Alan.
I had a look on your site but couldn't find a link to it. Is it easier to PM you on here, and let me know how I can send payment, as I would definitely like to buy this item?
Thanks again Alan. Really appreciate it.
Cheers
Matt

I,ve used K&N filters for 20 years and swear by them.. They are a bit more expensive to buy but you won,t need to replace it just clean it. I do mine every year or 5000 miles..

The Pro-R filter seems to out perform the Cosworth.
