HKS SSQV3 HELP ? BOOST LEAK ?
Hi Guys, just installed a HKS SSQV 3 on my 2006 STi today. Just wondering if any of you out there having the same problem as me. I am not getting the trademark chirping sound when the air is being dumped but getting a rather normal sounding psssshhhh instead. Checked all the vac lines and all seem fine. Could it be a crack in the turbo perhaps ? My car hasnt been boosting properly neither since upgrading my exhaust to a 3inch turbo back system (could be me though also was boosting fine when i had standard 2.5inch exhaust on). Defi gauge reading 1.0kpa foot flat on accelerator. Normal ?

Hi farlz, do you know what the normal boost is suppose to be on a DEfi gauge ? Its reading like 0.8kpa while idling and full throttle its hitting 1.0kpa. Not getting no chirp whatsoever just pssssshhhh low or full throttle. Wondering if i bought a fake SSQV now

you can buy different fins for the ssqv....
where did u buy it tho? HKS say its now pretty much impossible to distinguish genuines from the fakes now unfortunately and that the only way to be sure you have the real deal is to buy one from the approved stockists listed on their site. Iv been tempted to buy one myself from ebay, forums etc....but you gotta wonder why a BOV which costs nearly £300 are being sold for less than £100 on the net....

i bought one a while back off here seems the real deal its got the chirp and that! you could try putting the part number in google and see if it comes up as genuine part and check against a respectable seller to see if the part numbers are the same, thats the first thing i did when i recieved mine, hope this helps!!
