Hi mate. I had that on a previous car and it turned out the spark plugs were at fault. I'd actually just had it serviced at a main dealer and the week following it my car would be lumpy and the revs would be very irregular like yours. Turned out each plug wasn't properly tightened. So your problem could be plug related, or coil pack.

Yeah could try that as Matth says. I had a similar problem last month on my sti turned out to be the idle control valve. One of the screws had came loose and moved it slightly. repositioned and tigthened screw all ok now . Not saying its a screw loose but could be icv related.

All the best mate let us know what you find.

Could be the oxygen sensor. I had the same issue. It didn't hold a steady idle and sometimes cut out..
New sensor- now perfect.

Ah ok mate mine was doing it when idling on tick over.
I had the same problem as yours on my x5 and it was camshaft position sensor. i had it once on another car and turned out to be a hose with a rip after the afm.

I would check all air hoses and also the oxygen/lambda sensor as mentioned in post by damchief above

Have you checked for fault codes and does the check engine light come on?

I would perform an ecu reset first. Then see what fault codes it throws up.

Check the hard pipe that comes from the turbo to the intake.
