Parallel fuel supply question
Hello,
I've been doing a bit of research on the above and have noticed that people setup the fuel delivery and return/FPR differently.
Please enlighten me!
I've been doing a bit of research on the above and have noticed that people setup the fuel delivery and return/FPR differently.
- Does it matter if the parallel lines are fed from the front or back of the engine? I've seen both so far.
- I've seen people have the FPR in the standard location above cylinder No3. The return feed from the FPR is piped into a Y piece with the return from the opposite cylinder and then back to the tank. Surely this is only pressurising half of the rail?
Shouldn't you have the returns from both rails feeding into a T/Y-piece that then feeds into the FPR and then back to the tank?
Please enlighten me!

Key thing according to Brent at SMD is to make sure the fuel lines are equal length, Single line from the filter to a T piece then equal length to each rail, equal length from each rail to the fuel pressure reg (get a 2 port) then back to the fuel return line.
Also make sure any lines are inside fire shield particularly is using braided as it's like a file and will rub through anything it touches.

It isn't absolutely necessary for them to be exactly identical, close is good enough IMHO.
Given the rate of flow it's not likely to cause fuel flow abnormalities for the sake of a few cms.

Ok so on the length of fuel lines how does this look:
Filter to T piece - 55cm
T piece to rails * 4 - 30cm
T piece to FPR - 40cm (guess it depends on location!)
FPR to return - 30cm (again location dependant!)
About 2.5m in total?
