Default Radiator Leaking ??

Am i right in thinking if i get the system pressure tested it will show up any leaks?Every now and then i get coolant splashes over the front of the engine. If it turns out the rad is knacked is there any advantage fitting a different rad to my 04 WRX other than standard?

Check your radiator hoses first mate very common to get a pin hole in them.

it doesnt do it all the time. When it does it sprays everywhere which makes it difficult to pinpoint where it is coming from.

Yeah i had a few classics which did this and it didnt even show when pressurised, i would check the engine and find coolant sprayed all over the abs unit beside the air filter. Was the top rad hose both times. Hope you find whatever it is

Yep I had a tiny pinhole in the driver side plastic endtank of the radiator, on my previous 93 WRX. Would only start to **** out under pressure when coolant got up to normal operating temp.

just has mine replaced. had a hairline crack down the plastic on left side if looking at the engine which i'm told is a common problem. it wasn't really noticeable until it was taken out (had belts done). there were no obvious signs of coolant on the floor or in engine bay but it did need topping up every now and again.

new one came from 'northern radiators', they start from £43+vat including delivery.

I wouldn't bother with an upgraded rad. I got mine for my classic off e-bay something like £50 delivered.
