Newbie immobiliser problems
Hi all first of all gotta say I am a newbie to scooby.net as
Have always had vauxhalls before and been on vvoc for over 5 years but decided to take the turn an swop my vec gsi for a 2001 scooby wrx
In green 90000 on the clock 3 owners from new fsh and every reciept of parts and work since it was born
Gotta say once a got in it for the first hour when I got lost I thought what have I done but once I found da motorway and opened it up down the slip road my face lit up
And now I love it
There is a few dings on it full body kit that is horrid and cumin off tomorrow an is a lil project for me as I love moddin an can't wait to get it lookin sweet again
Anyways bk to my thread the car has a Clifford alarm on it or what I was told it has the subaru blue fob which I use to open the car and then start up which it starts up first time
I was in it yesterday I drove it to my mates an then cut it off whilst sat in it
And when I went to start it it was like the bat was dead and the alarm started to go off on me
I got out used the remote locked it an opened it an it done the same I ended up bumpin it to get it going
It also happened this morning at the asda is there a cretin way or starting these up on the immobiliser/key
If yas can help would be great
An gunn a upload some pics of me car next an make a progress thread of my mods and changes

Is it the factory fitted Sigma alarm, with a keypad in the glovebox?
If it is, get rid of it, nothing but trouble, had it on a my00 classic, mobile phone towers, fire engines going past, multi storey car parks, caused havoc.
The reason i ask is because the alarm on mine had a blue Subaru fob too, and it definately wasnt a clifford.

I have a similar issue with my bugeye immobilser, think its the sigma one as it goes. what mine does is the immobiliser gets locked on and it means I have to disconnect the battery for a few minutes like resetting a computer, then it generally works okay. Its very temperamental when it goes and gets locked on the remote fob doesn't work and stops you from locking or unlocking the car which would set or reset the immobiliser. If I am lucky I realise and start the car before the immobiliser sets.
Glad to hear its not just mine that's a problem and I was in the mind set that I was going to change it.
Anyone got any recommendations of replacement cat 1 alarm/immobilsers?
Also if you go to a specialist and they fit a new alarm will they be able to remove the old crappy sigma stuff and prevent any future issues?
Forgot to mention like one of the above posts mine does have the immobilser keypad by the fuse box under the steering column
