Default Prosport gauge issue.

I have 2 rposport gauges fitted to the A pillar in MY54 STi impreza. A boost gauge and oil pressure.
On the way home from work yesterday morning my heart sank as the oil pressure gauge started giving no reading to me and bleeping and flashing between its 2 colours, green and red. I pulled over checked the engine bay and dipped the oil to find it to be all in order nothing out of the ordinary and no leak.
Starting it back up the gauge doesnt bleep but just flashes on and off in white. Whilst driving again the gauge fired back into life for about 20mins then started the bleeping and flashing again. Though I did notice that as it was flashing it did also blank off totally as if it had shut down then came straight back on flashing green to red?

Any ideas and help please??

Many thanks in advance.

Steve

sounds like a loose connection at the rear of the gauge steve, thats what they do when there not getting a reading or anything from a sender/sensor and if all is well in engine bay i.e the sender then i would check back of gauge can only be one or the other i would think.

Welcome to the world of Prosport gauges! Both my son in his EVO and his G/F in her Fiesta ST have had problems with this make (As many on here!)
As said check all electrical connections (no reason why they should give trouble, if originally connected properly) Also, the sender units can be a bit suspect.

That's what my Prosport BOOST gauge does (if it works anyway):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVbigVyr_6c

If it's warm outside the needle does not do anything at all and at nights or if it's colder outside the needle does what's shown in the upper video: not working properly.

Maybe also any ideas?

Cheers
Andy

Thanks for the help guys however, the problem is not cured. Ive followed and checked the full wiring on it from gauge to oil filter. Ive unplugged all the plugs and made sure they were all clean and in good order but still no joy.
Could it be the sensor/sender unit that is attached to the oil filter?
Looks like another trip to Scoobyworld.

maybe its the sensor playing up. You are better off using the original oil pressure sensor location under the alternator, fwiw.

Nail, head and hit. I'm quite lucky actually, my gauges have been in for a three years and are still working (fingers crossed). However I did have an issue with oil pressure gauge some months ago. It stopped working and then just as suddenly started again.

Given all the searching i have done on the net Im starting to think the sender has gone belly up.
Forgive my ignorence but with my oil gauge fitted on a sandwich plate with the filter will the sender be easy to change save me having to book it in at Scoobyworld and do the 90mile round trip?
Are there any pics out there that can help?

Thanks in advance again.
