Doesn't the A/C compressor cut off when the car is on WOT therefore it shouldn't affect the max power?

I'd rather keep the A/C especially for a road car, a track day special is different tho'

The last owner of my ver 4 sti saw fit to remove it, and I see no reason to put it back as we only get a few days when I need it tbh.

the compressor is using very little power when it is not running as you are only turning the pulley. yes with the standard ECU the aircon compressor gets disengaged when you bury the throttle.

What use is a load of power if you are hot and sweaty and lose concentration ?

Keep it for a road car, 400 bhp in a classic isn't going to notice a kg.'s of aircon.

IMHO.

Wouldn't removing the A/C aid in cooling ?

Just a thought as the A/C condenser sits in front of the coolant rad

Well, that's the reason for me thinking about removing the A/C anyway !
