Default What ecu do I need to cure my99 hesitation???

Hello.

I have been told that a later ecu than the one fitted to my99 car will cure some hesitiation & maybe give more power, does anyone know the code?

Thanks in advance.

May not be the ecu, it was the later cars that suffered more from hesitation due to the emissions mode on the ecu, never had that problem myself on my MY00, yours could be anything from the maf sensor to the Lambda sensor, though if your running the original maf I would change that to be on the safe side anyway

Hi gra2730,

I may be wrong - but I thought it was the other way around

Last week I done the total opposite to you & changed my AE802 '00 ECU for a AE801 '99 version for the exact same reasons.

If you go to site below - tells you all about the difference:

http://www.ecutek.com.au/ecu-tuning/...ecu-comparison

Hope helps,

If you wanna give the later one a go - I have one cheap !

In a way, yes...

I had a feeling my MAF was failing but couldn't resist getting the ECU as it was cheap !

I swapped the ECU before the new MAF arrived. Whether it's my imagination or not, don't know but the car felt smoother & a tad sharper in throttle response.
Now I have the new MAF fitted now & it feels even better !

Think I need to investigate this more as to what ecu is better, could be what I have already, will check tomorrow, my maf is ok and so is lambda just precaution really after my engine blew a exhaust valve and had a second hand unit fitted, expensive!!!

Hoe much for the ecu?

I think the later 802 ECU I removed runs the car richer than the earlier ones.

If you decide you want it I can post it for 30 cider tokens ?
