Hi,

double check where it's coming from as it gets blown all over the place at speed

The reason I say that is a fairly common place for oil leaks are the cam cover gaskets, they drop onto the exhaust too.

The other one I had was the oil pump seal went.... i just gave it to my garage to sort.. as I'm not that knowledgable on fixing stuff like scoobys... an old mini maybe, but not a scoob... lol.

Don't think it's rocker gaskets all dry round them I'll pop the cam covers off at the weekend but was just wondering what the difficulty level was on DIY

Default crankseal probably

i think your prob right with the crank seal. mine is going in next week for the very same thing. not something i would try myself but if ur good with the spanners maybe? im getting the timing belt checked and maybe the tensioners replaced as i was told u r as well to do it while the belts and pulleys are off. i have a small leak from the cam breather but it wouldnt be enough to drip to the hot exhaust so even if u did have a leak there it still points to the crankcase seal by the sound of it m8.

It is quite common for the crankshaft seals to go. It is more often the rear seal than the front.

If you've done your timing belt before with ease, then you should be grand with this job?
