I am after a performance chip for my 93 WRX, whan I can find a reputable one
The car has a 3 port sol on at the momant, if I get a chip, will I have to change back to 2 port to get the correct boost control as I think the boost control is not closed loop.If the bostsystem is not closed loop control, then i will have to start messing about with restrictors in the sol.

Any help welcome.

 

3 port is standard for early WRXs.
Polarperformance chiups had good reviews/results but you can only get them secondhand now iirc.
Think there is a guy on 'Major Sarcasm' who still produces/sells performance chips

 

Save up for a mappable ECU which with a competant mapper can cater exactly for your engine spec.

 

I want to get the car mapped, Via ESL, but not at the moment. There is no other way I can see of safe eay of raising the boost a little and pushing the engine a bit. I fact Harvey is about to sort a pals 04 car out very soon, I have just diven it yesterday and its on par with my classic, and mine is on actuator boost. Will be interesting to see the results.
