DCCD help
Hi all,
Slightly confused by some differences of opinion on several sites. I'm looking for a newage STI. My budget of around 6K seems to stretch to around a bugeye JDM or a blobeye sti UK. I'm thinking of remap+exhaust+turbo in terms of mods (separate to budget).
General consensus seems to be that JDM is superior, is a bugeye JDM STI a better buy than than a blob uk STI (I think I can get over the looks)?
How new do I have to go for blobeye sti type uk (with the wider track, DCCD-A)?
I seem to be a little obsessed with the DCCD, is it going to make such a difference that it becomes a huge thing to take into consideration? I would describe myself as standard on the roads and very green on the track if that helps. Which models feature it?
Did all uk STI (both blob and bug) come with PPP as standard? I will be replacing these parts anyway.
Car will be for mixed road use (family, fun on the back roads, motorway and the odd track day etc).
I have an MY00 turbo 2000 at the moment and am looking to upgrade.

Thanks
John

Thanks Tony, Is the 2003 Jim sti (out of budget I think) have the wider track and dccd-a swell or was that only on the 04 model. I don't think my budget will run to spec c or variants like that. when did these come in on the UK model?

Its the 2005 model STI that has the wider track, UK cars didnt come with A-DCCD with the exception of the Solberg edition (the car that was the base to the WR1) before 2005, and they still dont get half the decent goodies that a JDM does (quick rack, rear wash, auto i/c spray etc), but it depends on your budget, 8ish k will get you a nice JDM twin scroll model with a-dccd if you look around
