MPG
Massivley boring thread but am planning a long drive at the end of the month and am just doin the math on fuel budget. I got a 2005 WRX Sports wagon which Im thinkin will do around 260 miles to a tank this is 90% motorway driving also and dont planning on booting it too hard. Anyone suggest MPG consumption? cheers

how long is the journey? official figure is 31mpg i believe, whether you get that depends solely on your driving style.
may seem harsh but i have always thought that if you need to think about this kind of thing then maybe you need to consider an alternative means of transportation.

Depends on the car and mods. You could do 70 all the way and get more but it's all situational. You should know what mpg your car does.
I get these;
Motorway - 36
Day to day - 30
School run (Short Journeys) - 26

Lot of different variables involved here fella, wind direction, temperature, UV index, altitude gain and loss, gravitational force of the moon, quality of wax used on bodywork, front bumper insect strike ratio, how many pies you've eaten oh and of course whether or not you've done the exhaust flange inlet manifold negative camber mod.

My car did 140 Miles to a third of a tank on the way to Skegness This was a mixture of mainly motorway and some country roads before hitting the towns.
I pretty much cruised along all morning at 60 and kept it off boost and when i returned home 2 days later did the same and got home with a third if a tank left

The 31mpg is with 16" wheels? Standard tyres?
The truth is there is no standard tread used by all users and people put on bigger rims. This will also affect the MPG.
For my car they quote 32mpg, even with clever gizmo's and adding 100mls of acetone per 45 litres I get 31mpg as a best. This is a country to urban trundle, and is for a 4 door GX sport with prodrive 17 x 7 rims running 205 17 50 Dunlop M3 winter sport tyres.
But every time I get in and set off a smile appears on my face.

If you look into each person, profile it'll tell you their best mpg per tank etc
