Default Removing Bootlock

As per the title really, I have had a look see and it looks as though its just a case of removing the bar from the lock, and removing the big square circlip to slide it out. Am I right in making that assumption? Its on a Bug WRX by the way.

Thanks!

yes just remove the clip and pull out then you will need to remove the metal rod that connects to the latch with some pliers and job done!
i removed mine for a reversing camera not that long ago

So the latch and boot release work without the lock? Thanks for the info!

I dont plan to remain like that, I am picking up a new bootlid/spoiler combo tonight and cant be bothered to replace the lock if it is too much hassle at the 'venue'! Ill suck it and see tonight, if it did go poop up, I could send the boy through the gap in the seats!! He is a slender lad!

ill post some pics when its finished.
i am just finishing off my 05 console and door card swap so the radio is not in the car due to waiting on new brackets from the main dealers as the 05 ones are different.
when i have the radio installed i can finish the camera install as i need to adjust where its pointing.
its really nothing to look at as i have just put a silver bezel on the outside the same size as the lock was and the lenses is the same size as the keyhole was so its not really noticable which is what i want.
also if the cable does snap which is hopefully unlikely you can reach through the armrest hole and open the boot anyway.
