Default High Water pressure on RA

Hi, has anyone had this problem.
On my 1993 WRXRA, when the car has been on a long run, is hot and been at top end revs, I find water/anti freeze has sprayed out in the area of the coolant filler tank. Enough to come out of the bonnet vent !
It does not seem to come out of the overflow on the otherside of the rad, which i would expect if it was come from the rad coolant filler cap.
On a short run on boost its does not do it ?
Has anyone any ideas what it could be. I am hoping its not the head gasket.
The car is standard, other than a de cat exhaust.
Thanks

If the coolant is not returning to the expansion bottle (right side of engine looking in), i doubt there is too much pressure in the system. You must have a leak somewhere which is spraying coolant out. I would check the most common ones the radiator hoses or the ones under the coolant filler bottle.

If it over pressurises the radiator cap will lift and return the coolant to expansion bottle (Then its HG as i just found out ).

All the best

If the system was pressurizing, the radiator cap will lift and return the coolant to expansion bottle, which it is not. I have checked to see if the pipe to the overflow is clear, it is !?

i agree you have a leak not a pressure issue. your cap (if standard) will lift at 0.9Bar. 0.9 bar from a leak will give a lot of coolant.
