It will bolt straight on ,but the v23/24 have different flow characteristics, and for that reason unless you are thinking of having the car remapped it is best to put on a vf23 as a direct replacement imho.
Vf 24 has more bottom end grunt and a smaller exhaust housing than the vf23 which means it spools up slightly quicker, but the vf23 has more mid range punch than the 24 .

Your ecu is set up to run boost for a vf23, if you just stick another turbo on and hope for the best what do you think could be the worst case . It might run ok for a while but eventually something will let go. Think about it logically if we could all just put a turbo on and forget about it, the likes of jgm, bob Rawle , etc would not be needed

ok i no what you saying but i actually think my car originally had a 24 in the first place
and some one changed it to a 23 then put a piggy back on the ecu and it boosted to 1.4 bar thn when i bought it the 3rd piston went after half hour of a good blag in doin so i had to replace head, crank, pistons, and finally turbo after putting car bk together i do have another vf23 i bought and fitted other week but on boost i could hear a slight noise (like fan maybe touching side of housing but you clearly cant tell by eye so im guessing bearing?? so thats why i bought another and it happens to be a 24 which i was told by api that my car is ment to have on it??

If your car is meant to have a vf24 as std ,then you will be fine if you take your ecu back to std, ie: the way it left the factory.
