Turbo engine without water/oil cooler

Turbo engine without water/oil cooler
Hi! I've buyed second hand a turbo wrx engine to put into my v4 car, but i've found it without the water/oil coller. Was removed from a v3 car, but has hydro lifters (as v1/v2), v1/v2 timing belt, v3 intake manifold and td04, so a quite strange engine...
Afaik every turbo engine had that cooler. It's possible that someone has done a frankenstein engine, using an n/a block? Or some turbo engines had not the cooler?
Thanks!

AFAIK all turbo engines came with an oil modine (cooler). it is quite possible to mix and match a lot of the older subaru engine parts, so a "frankenstein" engine is a distinct possibility, but not with a normally aspirated block.

Interesting, this engine had a flex plate (of an automatic transmission) and not a flywheel...
The power of auto engine is the same as the normal wrx, 211bhp, right?

My parts system shows ALL Classic Imprezas fitted with the same oil cooler modine... It doesn't matter what Engine Size is fitted & it is the same part used for Turbo, Non Turbo, Manual & Auto Transmission cars.

Well your parts system is wrong...Autos dont have one. The fact the OP's engine seems to have come from an auto reinforces the fact..

Yes, i think that you are correct, look here:

"NO AUTOMATIC"
I have one spare modine from an old block, i will put it on
Hope that the ecu of my v4 car is happy with this engine (the biggest difference are the cams, marked v3 hydraulic vs v4 mechanical).
Thanks for the help!
