reprograming key fob/pin number
as the title , i am trying add another keyfob and change my key fob ,as i only have 1 key and don't know the pin/code
car is a 05 sti type uk , is there any way i can do it myself and not have to got to subaru dealer ? ,
I have tried this (below) using the keypad , but it doesn't seem to work , any idea's? thanks
Arm and then Disarm the system using the working Radio Key.
- Within 30 seconds of disarming, type into the keypad- *17856*91*2# where 2 is total number of radio keys to work the system
- Briefly press both radio keys in turn (the dash board LED will flash each time and the siren will bleep) Any radio keys not programmed here will no-longer operate the system.
- You should now be able to arm and disarm the system using all the radio keys programmed.

Had a similar problem to this, but turned out i was using the wrong battery in my fob.
I ended up taking to subaru and they sorted in no time at all. Only charged me £3.50. Might be worth ringing your local dealership (if you have one) and see if they can help.
Using the instructions in the manual and the keypad does work but is a right pain. You have to be so spot on with your button pressing or you have to start again.
