Oil & Oil Filter Recommendations please
Just after a little of your knowledge and some recommendations regarding the above for my scoob please..
Its a classic '99 sport (non turbo) 2.0l, only mod so far is an afterburner vortex back box although induction kit/panel filter coming v soon! possibly a decat centre pipe soon after that.
Firstly, which engine oil would you recommend??
(I've changed the oil once, since I had it, which was immediately after I got it, I can't remember which oil I used now, but did find out from somewhere, just I'd now rather ask you guys here for your opinions, done 10k since, well overdue an oil change! think I'll regularly change around every 7,000 miles from this change onwards, that sound ok??
Secondly, which oil filter would you recommend:
(I changed this with the oil, but used a halfords one... now thinking I need something a little better than halfords quality... what was I thinking, or are these actually ok??)
- Is the genuine subaru oil filter ok for the job??
(Is there point in getting a better/more expensive one such as the following?)
- HKS Hybrid Sports Oil Filter http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=1671
(would this fit my car?)
- K&N Gold Performance Oil Filter http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog...oducts_id=1566
(quite like the look of this one due to the handy nut making for even easier installation and removal? again would this fit my car, going by scoobyworlds description, maybe not??)
--
If of course there are better filters from other places then just shout, I haven't looked too much tbh!
Very Many Thanks

Here is a link that may help
http://www.millersoils.net/1_Millers...ENGINE_OIL.htm
I would use a genuine Subaru oil filter
We have filters and sump washers in stock ready for next day dispatch.

I'd use a 10w-40 in your car

The best ones are the Gulf Competition, Motul 300V, Redline and Millers CFS. As a cheaper alternative the Fuchs XTR, Motul 6100 and Millers XSS are good choices.
Here is the filter.

Filters are nothing special, all they do is stop larger bits of debris. As long as they meet the OEM requirements (that one does), they are fine.
Cheers
