Induction kit/Panel Filter help...
Ok, I'm after a little help as to what would be the best thing to do regarding upgrading my air intake as I've recently fitted an afterburner vortex back box to my classic '99 sport (non turbo) 2.0l scoob and my air filter is probably well over due a replacement.
I guess my options are either simply buy a better performing panel filter and just replace the old one...
or..
Get rid of all that black plastic piping and air boxes and fit some sort of induction kit, which I'd prefer to do I think to get rid of all that black plastic taking up so much space..
So which would be the better option, will I see a great deal in performance difference with either?
Any suggestions as to what exact parts to get and from where??
Many thanks guys

The std Subaru inatke system is 'tuned' and works very well. And the filter is obviously totally insulated and fed cold air from the snorkel in the wing (assuming the NA intake setup is layed out similar to the turbo cars???).
As above, just fit a replacement Green or K&N panel, if you insist on making a change. But I doubt you'll 'feel' any on-road gains. Or even hear any induction roar.

Cars Ive had in the past generally respond better to uprated panel filters, but as most have said the gains you will see are minimal.
Generally an induction kit is there for the roar. I used to run panel filters in my old Gte's and then drill the airbox. You would gain the best of both worlds, better performance but also a better roar, not as loud as a cone but a noticeable.
