Hello, I have a 1995 impreza import and I have this very very annoying squeak coming from where I have narrowed it down to the thrust bearing.

It started now and again while i was driving, thought it was a shock or something. But now I have managed to make it do it while on stop.

So if it pull the clutch out almost all the way it does it and keeps doing it. So i'm guessing it a bearing.

My questions are do you think that is it and is there a easy fix as I am skint. Can you spray some WD40 on it some how? I'm not sure where it is to be honest to have a look myself!

Hi Claire the clutch release bearing is inside the gearbox bell housing so not really accessable until the gearbox is off the car to be honest.

 

If it goes when the clutch is depressed and noisey with the clutch up then yes its the bearing. Its a gearbox out job so really advice would be a new clutch which will include bearing

 

Oh gutted! What will happen if I dont sort it out? Apart from the noise driving me mental?
