Sports cat for MOT
Hi
I have just taken my 2002 3" decat STI to the local MOT centre for an emission test.
Instead of being 0.3 the result was 0.6, double what it should have been.
I'm just asking what people would recommend I do...
1. fit a standard system with original CAT fitted
2. buy a sports CAT and get it fitted for the MOT, and removed afterwards
3. buy a sports CAT and keep it fitted to the car.
If I do go for the sports cat route, do you reckon it will bring the emissions down enough?
Thanks
Tom

Buy a sports cat mate and leave it.
I have been running my sports cat on my car for 4/5 years and passes even with an advisory of "LOUD EXHAUST" .
Thats with using a MD321 T, FMIC and ALS. Big 850CC injectors.

I have got a sports cat in the centre section if my milltek system and leave it on permanently. At mot time I take the car for a little blast to warm the cat up at it goes straight through with no problems.

I got fed up hunting for a friendly garage with my de-cat.So got Ninja 100cell sports cat fitted at Scooby World, warm up with a little run and ask MOT tester to do emissions test first and sails through for 3 yrs now.Am running 315bhp so am happy with the sports cat not too restrictive.

I'm running 405 BHP with my Miltek sports Cat in the centre section, do need to get it hot first and do emissions first. Mine passes and it's on a 2.5 block now with Syvecs etc.

Just got in from my MOT this morning.
Passed no problems at all. Warmed the cat up with a few spirited runs on route and with the anti lag on a few times.
My cat take 450bhp. Job done.
