Default No Boost

Hi all . I have an 06 hawk 2.5 sti fitted with a fp green turbo .
Now the problem.
I was driving along giving it the beans a little, slowed for a bend and just when i started to come back on boost as i accelerated a whoosh sound occured and i've lost all boost . It wasn't a majorely loud noise but sounded like a lot of air escaping . I've had the tmi off and checked all pipe work hoping it was just a pipe blown off but they were all on still. The engine still sounds sweet as a nut and drives fine . Any ideas ? Thanks in advance Neil.

Also, although not common, you might have a split in the intercooler core or endtanks, or the IC inlet pipe! Carefully check 'em over...

Also, check that the recirc port on the turbo inatke hose is properly bunged (air tight) too.

Just took it for a little spin round the block and when it should come on boost a loud groaning noise happens . when the turbo was fitted the tuner removed all re circ pipe work and blanked it all off .How do you check the actuator and also where is the port on the turbo for the re circ ? cheers

the noise sounds like it comes from the turbo area as in directly infront of the steering wheel .

Hmmmn, it could be the turbo itself has actually gone for a burton. Any white smoke out the exhaust at all?

(The DV recirc port is on the intake pipe, which is cited between the MAF and the turbo).

Yes a little white smoke i think? If thats the case and the turbo has gone i'm lucky to still have an engine . the bung is still in place for the re circ. The turbo has only done about 3000 mls from new i think ?

I take it i should take the inlet pipe off the turbo and see if there's any play in shaft ?

How good are the fp greens anyway ? As it feels more responsive than the standard turbo but not any faster . It was mapped to the turbo . Luckily i still have the standard turbo . If it is the turbo are they expensive to have repaired?

Funnily enough early FP Greens did indeed have a rep for breaking, yes! But I think later ones were more reliable.

It's the worst turbo as regards potential reliabilty.... Simply because all the other std fit turbos don't really suffer breakages as such i.e. not fragile. Esp. the TD range.
