How Much left In Tank From Warning Light?
Have 54 plater WRX STi, the fuel gauge never resets to zero when the ignition is turned off so i never know what the lowest point is that the needle will read until you are completely empty. I filled up the other day thinking i was almost out of fuel and i managed to put 51 litres into the tank so still had 9 litres to play with. Does anyone know what the lowest point of the needle reading is?
Also how much further can you get on 9 litres of fuel driving normally (no constant boosting)?....25-35 miles??

Low fuel light comes on at around 8 litres. Not advisable to run that low for various reasons including possibly running lean, thereby running the risk of detonation

I always try to get fuel onboard within 20 miles if possible once the light comes on ... as soon as I see it come on I press the odometer reset so I can see how close to fumes I am ... I've had it up to 30 miles but I was bricking myself and keeping it very smooth.

2007 WRX just for ****s and giggles really, tried to see how far I could get once the light came on.
A-road driving on average 50mph drove for 66 miles, there was still just about 3 liters left in the tank.
i.e. at a normal fuel consumption of around 9l/100km that would mean the light comes on with about 12l left in the tank.

I'm sure it's two gallons on the light, so about 9 litres. I've done a full 80miles on the light before though..
And surge is possible with anything below half a tank, trust me it's annoying! I intend to go for a swirl pot setup at some point, just to stop this.
