Default gearbox/diff noise

Can anyone help me is it normal for the gearbox to wine when under load

You don't have an early JDM 35:65 DCCD with it in the "orange" positions on the dash do you?

i thought sti boxes were all slightly noisy?

Your gearbox ahouldnt whine at all if it's in good working order/topped up, the resistance you get (dccd boxes only) is the rear diff tightening up when you are in the orange or locked when turning, if the gearbox whines (it shouldn't be noisy at all) then first port of call is the dip stick or if the oil has not been changed at regular intervals I would start there.

Thanks for your replies sorry if i appear a bit thick i am very new to subaru sti AWD(always been a RS500 boy) not sure what box it is but c.diff in auto on dash
