Default wont start after rebuild

just rebuilt a my97 uk2000, engine in and everything connected and i wont start sometimes backfires through inlet, ive got fuel and a good spark and ive just checked timing which is spot on even whipped cam covers off to make sure cams correct and all ok.
any help would be great.

all plugs for coilpack on the right coilpack?

as far as im aware trying to find a wiring diagram to check injectors are plugged right way.

switch plugs round mate you can only be wrong once as theres only 2 a side, i did that plug coilpacks in and it wouldnt start just backfired everynow and then switched plugs roung and fired up straight away

Hope you have fitted the Camshafts back in their correct positions otherwise there is no way it will start.

Hope its something simple to fix though.

Timing wrong mark on crank pulley.


Or fuel lines feed and return wrong way round.


Ecu not get cam or crank signal correctly.

cams in right and timing is spot on. wish was as simple as my **** up

all your sensor plug in i.e crank sensor ect..

shes alive lads. my fault yeah im a dick etc etc put a sti version 8 crank pulley on. ma bad.
