Removing ABS?? Can it be done?
Hi, Just to let you know there will probably be alot more threads in the near future about removing, replacing and general questions as i am doing some work to my car.
My question at the moment is, is it at all possible to remove the ABS from my car.(MY98 uk turbo 2000) I need to do something about it as when on track it seems to kick in when braking medium to hard.
I have upgraded my brakes from the standard 2pots to larger brembo's, so i am not sure whether this is affecting the ABS system. Plus it takes up a fair amount of room in an area i need to put an induction kit as i am going for a front mount intercooler.
Thanks
Mike

I've not done a write up buts its fairly easy to do. You will need a brake pipe flaring kit, some pipe unions, 2x T- pieces, brake pipe, etc. Remove abs pump, i just removing the wiring at the plug and cable tied it out if the way. In simple terms you 'T' the front together direct to the master cylinder, then 'T' the rear together but through a bias valve so that you can control the bias between front and rear of the car.
I'm fairly sure 'Jamz' did a write up somewhere on here. I'll have a look.
