Worth checking the wiring between sensor and first connector in case its been damaged. Can get burnt on uppipe if that's been replaced.

If the wiring looks Ok then I'm afraid it's a new front 02 sensor, the bug one is a pseudo wideband jobby and the ECU likes to "see" the OEM unit...... specialists are cheaper than dealers

Hi!

I will hijack this thread for a question

I also got this P1131 (02 sensor circuit(Short) (bank 1 sensor 1)) code, while on the motorway at high speeds. I did a reset and the error didnt came back. I have a decatted (heatwrapped) upipe and a remap. The car is a 01 bugeye wrx. Also the car runs just fine, even with the CEL lighted, runned normally.

Any suggestions?

As for OP.........
Car will run fine except you may experience an increase in fuel consumption.

Check that the wiring is clear of the up pipe and not damaged, if OK replace.

Thanks! I will first check the wiring. I've red that this happend only at high speeds to a few people, like in my case.

I hoped @JDM_Stig knew something about that as he asked for the speed
