Default Impreza Exhaust

Hi everyone, I'm sure this has been asked before, I am going to be getting a new back box for my classic Impreza soon, I'm debating whether or not to have it at the angled exit or straight like it is at the moment. Is there any real pro to have the angled exit? Many thanks, Nick.

+1 ,but the angled exit can offer slightly better gas flow higher in the rpm range due to reduced bends in the pipework.

Thanks for the replies, I had heard about the angled offering better flow but my exhaust is a 3" system all through so it should be breathing ok anyway.

i know exactly what u mean ive just fitted a resonated centre section from H&S and a mongoose back box to mine. My last sti5 had an hks hi power that was angled. loved the way it looked but i had to pick an choose the chemists i went to for headache tabs think they thought i was an addict!! it was too loud for me - quieter than a nur spec right enough - maybe im just gettin old.
my new H&S / mongoose mixture is perfect quiet at a cruise and it roars at full chat. Very very deep tone at idle too.

Ive got a 4.5 inch exit on my 3 inch japspeed system, fitted on my bugeye wago at first i thought it looked out of place but its grown on me, sounds great too, not too loud until you hit 3500 rpm then sounds great makes me grin, but makes the wife frown lol
